Pioneer Natural Resources and Workforce Solutions Golden Crescent
Honored at Texas Workforce Conference
Pioneer Natural Resources received the Employer Award of Excellence for the Workforce Solutions Golden Crescent (Golden Crescent) area at the Texas Workforce Commission’s (TWC) 17th Annual Texas Workforce Conference held Dec. 4-6 in San Antonio. The Employer Award of Excellence honors employers that are actively involved with their local workforce board and have made a positive impact on employers, workers and the community.
Pioneer Natural Resources has made significant capital investments in South Texas, including a recently-completed plant in Cuero and a complex in Victoria. Each facility cost approximately $18 million to build and as a member of the Eagle Ford Shale Consortium, Pioneer Natural Resources works with Golden Crescent to advance the employment and training capacity throughout the region.
Pioneer Natural Resources has committed to being a responsible member of the South Texas community, earning a reputation for community involvement through charitable contributions and other activities.
“The local workforce boards help build a stronger workforce in the Lone Star State by connecting employers, educational institutions and economic development entities,” said TWC Chairman Andres Alcantar. “I congratulate Pioneer Natural Resources and Workforce Solutions Golden Crescent for partnering to benefit their communities, their workers and the state of Texas.”
Golden Crescent was recognized for outstanding board performance, receiving a $15,000 Performance Incentive Award for Choices Employment and first place recognition for Workforce Investment Act Exemplary Performance. The TWC Performance Incentive Awards recognize boards that display increased accountability and improved efficiencies. Monetary awards for achievement in these categories will be used to enhance workforce service programs during the next year.
Workforce Solutions Golden Crescent is one of 28 local workforce boards located throughout the state. Golden Crescent services Calhoun, DeWitt, Goliad, Gonzales, Jackson, Lavaca and Victoria counties. The primary goal of TWC and the workforce boards is to respond to needs of Texas employers and workers through locally designed, market-driven workforce development initiatives and services. All employers, workers and job seekers are eligible to take advantage of these services.
